DAY-00

24/05: DEPART FROM KOLKATA FOR JOHANNESBURG VIA MUMBAI

Welcome to your "Miles with Smiles"-Group Tour of South Africa. South Africa is one of the most diverse and interesting countries in the world. Tourists flock to South Africa for its natural beauty, wildlife and sunshine. South Africa's immensely varied terrain supports a rich diversity of animals, birds, and plant-life and offers an incomparable range of experiences.

On the arrival at the Kolkata International Airport you will be met by our “Miles with Smiles” representative at a designated point. After that we will leave for Mumbai. From Mumbai we will take the flight for Johannesburg.

DAY 01

25/05: JOHANNESBURG - SUN CITY

We will reach Johannesburg by morning. Upon the arrival at Johannesburg first we will have the breakfast and then we will proceed straight to Sun City by car which will take approximately 2-3 hours. Sun City is a luxury resort and casino, situated in the North West Province of South Africa. Now that casinos have spread in South Africa, Sun City is no longer the only gaming hotspot in the country, but it's still visually dramatic. It's a sprawling complex of luxury hotels, restaurants and Vegas-style shows on the edge of Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Upon the arrival at Sun City check-in at the hotel and relax. At the evening we will have an orientation tour of Sun City.

Overnight in the hotel at Sun City.

SUGGESTED HOTEL

MEDIUM BUDGET – Kingdom Resort (4-star hotel) (OR similar other)
R556 Pilanesberg, 0317, Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa

After breakfast we will proceed for Kruger National Park via Johannesburg. On the way we will have a short break at the Mandela House to have a glimpse of the life of one of the noblest men of the 20th Century and also an orientation tour of Johannesburg City. We will reach Kruger by late evening. There we will stay in Numi Numi lodge which is just 20km away from the Kruger National Park (KNP).

Overnight in the Numi Numi lodge.
Today after having breakfast we will check-out from the lodge then we will enter KNP and check- in at the Camp. After taking some rest we will proceed for game drive in Kruger National Park, which is one of AfricaÂ’s largest game reserves. Its high density of wild animals includes the Big 5: Lions, Leopards, Rhinos, Elephants and Buffalos. Hundreds of other mammals make their home here, as do diverse bird species such as vultures, eagles and storks. Mountains, bush plains and tropical forests are all part of the landscape.

Overnight at the Lower Sabaie Camp. (OR similar other)
Today after breakfast we will again go for a game drive because there are a lot more to explore. There are thousands of wildlife destinations on the African continent but few of them offer an authentic wilderness experience to tourists like KNP. Driving around in an open game drive vehicle the whole time and staying in a luxury lodge is not necessary the real thing. Staying in a rustic, primitive camp and experiencing the African bush on foot is much closer to an ultimate wilderness type of recreation. That is what we offer the more adventurous tourist – wildness, remoteness, tranquillity, peace and a big bonus: no other people.
We will return in the Camp at the evening.

Overnight at the Lower Sabaie Camp. (OR similar other)

After having breakfast we will proceed for last game drive at KNP. Everybody nowadays offers big five as part of the package. But very few like us can offer an experience of real bush exclusivity. We sees dangerous animals as part of the bigger picture and not the whole picture.

After the morning drive we will return to our Camp from there we will take our luggage and drive to Johannesburg. From Johannesburg we will take a late evening flight for Cape Town.

Overnight we will stay at Strand pavilion Resort at Cape Town. (OR similar other)
After having breakfast we will check out from the hotel and drive through the Garden Route along the south coast of South Africa. The name ‘Garden Route’ relates to the lush vegetation and ancient indigenous forest bordering lakes, lagoons and long, golden beaches. It is quite a paradise on earth, with the mild oceanic climate making it a great place to visit at any time of the year. The Route, which runs for 150 miles from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape to Storms River in the Eastern Cape, is sandwiched between lofty mountains on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other. This provides many spectacular views whichever way you look.

Mossel Bay at the start of the Garden Route has not much to offer in itself, being a fairly industrialised town with the harbour supplying off-shore natural gas installations.

George, which considers itself the capital of the Garden Route, is a pleasant enough little town, but travelling a little further brings you to the Wilderness Park, part of the Garden Route National Park. Here a complex of lakes, rivers and estuaries is both scenic and offers great canoeing opportunities.

At last, we will reach Knysna after a 5-6 hoursÂ’ drive. We will go directly to see Plettenburg Bay, which is resort town with mountains, white sands and crystal clear blue water. After spending few hours we will come back to Knysna, which is only half-an hour journey from Plettenburg. Knysna is situated on South Africa's only National Lake, which is also the country's largest permanent estuary. The enchanting town of Knysna is surrounded by the Outeniqua Mountain range, engulfed by indigenous forests and the protected 21 square kilometre marine reserve, locally better known as the 'Lagoon'. The Knysna Lagoon is best known for its most unique industry, oyster farming. To the oyster lovers this could only mean sheer self-indulgence.

Overnight in the hotel at Knysna.
